Dr. Aviel (Avi) D. Rubin is Professor Emeritus of Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University, where his research focuses on cybersecurity and applied cryptography, and he is the founder of Harbor Experts. He has testified about information security before the U.S. House and Senate, authored several books on computer security, and delivered two widely viewed TED talks. Rubin is a recipient of the 2004 Electronic Frontiers Foundation Pioneer Award, was named a Baltimorean of the Year by Baltimore Magazine in 2004, and was a Fulbright Scholar at Tel Aviv University in 2010–2011. He holds a B.S. (’89), M.S.E. (’91), and Ph.D. (’94) from the University of Michigan.
